Time saving tips!

Wasn't it great to have the extra hour at the weekend? OK so evenings are getting shorter, but it was an excuse to stay in bed that little bit longer, and that's got to be a good thing! So in the spirit of saving time I've got some time saving tips you can use every morning to help maximise those last few minutes in bed ...

If you haven't got time to cleanse, tone and moisturise head straight to a tinted moisturiser - perfectly moisturised skin will be yours, as well as a foundation finish! Time saved: 5 minutes

Multi-task your lipstick! It will work just as well as a cream blusher, so give your lipstick a dual purpose every morning and you could save yourself an extra 3 minutes in bed.

Save time with eyeshadow application and go for lighter, shimmering shades that are easy to blend ... any mistakes will be your little secret. Time saved: 6 minutes

It's what you do before you go to bed that could save you time in the morning ... so invest in a good night cream and you may find yourself skipping the foundation part of your regime the next day! Time saved: 6 minutes.

It's time to get creative with our make-up bags!


A thought came to me at the weekend, whilst listening to yet another news bulletin about the "credit crunch" - if we're really harping back to days gone by, tightening our belts then now's the perfect opportunity to come up with some really creative ways to use the existing products in our make-up bags ... a little bit like when women used eyeliner up the back of their legs when stockings were no longer available! Now I think that's a little bit extreme* (it is cold outside!) but I'm sure you've got some great and unusual ideas to get the most from your make-up.

Today, at VVAH HQ we've entered into the spirit of things by dressing up in our heritage Virgin red and celebrating what we think is great customer service. We've got red wigs, red shoes, red jumpers and most importantly red sweets! It's certainly going to be an interesting day ...

But most importantly the message about National Customer Services week is about celebrating great service, and we're pretty proud of our fantastic Customer Services team who work very hard to answer all the customer queries we receive. Not only do they help our customers ... they also speak to all of our Consultants too, so it can be a bit of a juggling act!

Glamour or Groceries ... that is the question.

I got passed this article by a colleague this morning - if you haven't got time to read, I'll summize ... According to a web survey recently conducted with over 1000 women, 1 in 3 women would prefer to cut down on the groceries during these challenging financial times, rather than sacrifice their favourite beauty products ... hmmm interesting!

Now, I would never want to encourage you from getting those well needed cupboard staples- but I don't think there's a need to sacrifice either if you shop wisely - after all popping a lipstick in your shopping bag is a perfect pick-me-up, a foundation will see you through the day to day and forsaking your skin care regime ... well it's simply unforgivable!

And whilst too much does bring concerns about looking like Mr T to mind, one or two key pieces make such a statement - who wants to wait for the invite to the Christmas party when you can start wearing a bit of sparkle now!
