Here comes the sun

Because not all of us have been lucky enough to jet off towards the sunshine like our Cath who's just returned from Barbados, we're itching to break out the fake tan. (Seriously, look at that tan ... we're green with envy!)

A glimmer of British sun and the VIE at home team can't resist showing off a bit more flesh. Run Jade, run

It's the London Marathon this weekend, and everyone here will be watching with particular interest. That's because one of our head office team, Jade, is going to be running the gruelling 26 miles and 385 yards (yes those yards are very important!)

Not only will Jade take the challenge this weekend, she's also going to be running a further 3 marathons during 2009! All to raise money for Clic Sargent, a charity who Virgin Vie have worked with very closely over the years.

Kate Winslet tops our Natural Beauty poll

Star of Titanic, recent Oscar winner and Brit beauty Kate Winslet has just been awarded the title of Ultimate Natural Beauty, in a poll undertaken by us. We surveyed 3000 people to find out who they thought was the Ultimate Natural Beauty and Kate came top, narrowly beating Audrey Hepburn to take the title.

Other candidates in the top 10 included Cheryl Cole, Kelly Brook and Liv Tyler. Our CEO Ros Simmons commented, "'All the women in the top 10 look incredible without lots of make up. The study proves men prefer the natural look too. Getting the right products for your skin tone is the key to looking radiant and it's vital to get a few quality staple items to create the natural look."

Happy Birthday Ma'am

We've just found out it's the Queens 83rd birthday. Being a very British company we couldn't let the day slip by without wishing her a very Happy Birthday.

Sadly we can't quite stretch to a full Royal gun salute but if she wants to call us up and tell us what make up she'd love for her royal make up bag, we'd gladly offer her a discount (just because it's her birthday!)

A Plymouth shopping mall was recently taken over by a group of flash dancers. The idea: To surprise people by launching into a choregraphed dance routine and kick start a search for local modelling talents.

We're particularly proud of this production because a couple of ladies from our team were involved. Carol Massey and Lisa Pinkus were there to style the dancers, giving them makeovers to ensure they shine in the spotlight. Carol said, "Some people came along without make-up on because maybe they don't normally wear it. We gave them makeovers to help them feel more confident. It really shows in their photographs."

Who's for cake?

What a sight!

To welcome the arrival of our call centre (who previously sat in another office) we're celebrating with a fabulous array of cakes ... any excuse. I see it as the perfect exercise for getting our stomachs in shape for all those Easter Eggs this weekend. As you can see we've made a valiant effort, but there's still a few slices left if you fancy a piece?!

I'm not too sure what the weather report is for the weekend, but at the moment the sun is shining and warding off those dark rain clouds - what a great start to a short working week!

Kabuki Bird Found - more hair available for brushes

I'm delighted to report that we are back in stock of the Kabuki Brush thanks to a large flock of Kabuki Birds being found in a large forest in Southern Asia.

The birds are unharmed in the making of the brushes, but locating a fresh flock has been difficult due to the phenomenal success of the VIE at home Kabuki Brush.

We believe that Mrs Obama has flown into the UK just to get her hands on one of the famous brushes. In a quote from Downing Street this morning, the fashion setter said, "I talked to Barrack and explained how important this new Kabuki Brush was if I am to maintain my flawless complexion. He understood completely and mobilised Airforce One immediately. I can't wait to show my brush off to Sarah Brown this morning!"
