We knew there was a reason we loved Big Brother winner, Josie

So it was all a little strange watching a Big Brother final on a Tuesday night, but so worth it when 25 year old Josie Gibbon was crowned the winner of the final series of Big Brother.

Looking resplendent with her freshly dyed blonde locks, and glowing fake tan (seriously - how pale does she make Davina look?!) Josie is today winner of Big Brother 2010 and £100,000 richer (not that she'll see it for a couple more weeks, as she's back in the house taking part in Ultimate Big Brother).

When Davina asked her how she'll spend her money, Josie said she said she would give £20,000 to the cancer charity CLIC, a charity very close to VIE at home's heart.

Throughout the years our Consultants have completed record breaking makeovers, marathons, trekked through Cuba and raised an incredible amount of money for CLIC ... we're just wondering if we could recruit Josie in a couple of weeks to Come and join our Party?

Cheryl's X Factor make up - love those lashes

Top tips on how to apply fake eyelashes
Fake eye lashes are fab, fun and flirty. Lucky Cheryl has a Make Up Artist on hand at all times to master the art of fake eyelash application. However, for the rest of us here's a guide on how to apply false eyelashes like a master ...

1) Your false eyelashes are the cherry on top of the cake, so apply last. For smoky eyes like Cheryl's try our Bedazzled Eyeshadow Collection in Spellbound, sweeping the Eclipse shade (metallic blue) all over the eye and then blending Midnight (metallic purple) into the eye crease and below the bottom lash line. Blending is key so pick a good quality eyeshadow brush like our Eyeshadow Blender & Applicator and blend like a pro.

2) Gently curl the eyelashes with a pair of Eyelash Curlers (not too much - just a couple of squeezes is perfect) and then apply a coating of your favourite mascara. We like Precision Lash Mascara for this look.

3) Now it's time to bring out the fake lashes. If the lashes are a little too long, you may need to trim them slightly. Measure them along the length of your eyelid and they should fit comfortably from the outer corner to the inner corner - any excess can be trimmed with a regular pair of scissors.

4) Apply a little of the adhesive to the lash band (the adhesive that comes with VIE at home's False Eye Lash Kit dries completely see through so no worries about white glue shinging through!) Allow this to go a little tacky, which takes approx 10-15 seconds.

5) Press the lash firmly along your natural lash line and hold for approx 10 seconds until dry. Don't panic if you don't get it right first time, you can gently push the lash down with your finger whilst the glue is drying so it sits close to your lash line.

6) Even the professionals are known to have little slips when applying false eyelashes ... so here's a top trade secret. Take a liquid eyeliner and use to fill in any spaces between the lash and the eyeline. Used by top Make Up artists as a way to 'fill in the gaps' this is a must have for the fake lash novice.

7) That's it - get set to flutter those lashes girls ...

Eyes Wide Open

According to a report on the BBC website today, US teenagers are risking their eye health by trying to copy Lady Gaga's wide eye look with iris altering contact lenses. Teenage copycat fads is not really new ... who else sported Madonna lace gloves? Bros inspired bottle tops on your shoes? Permed hair, Kylie style?

Fortunately, we don't think our readers will be mail ordering the risky lenses any time soon. Instead, here's some more sensible tips on how to get eyes wide open

"Scientists" it would appear may have a little too much time on their hands ...

An article published on the BBC website reports that a team at the University of Edinburgh have undertaken research into the rules behind achieving the ultimate all over tan. Their conclusion? A smooth even tan is a physical impossibility.

Well we like a mission impossible, and we think fake tanning is a much safer alternative to getting a healthy golden glow ... so here's our steps on how to fake it to perfection, and have the boffins reconsidering their theories.

1) Always start by exfoliating skin, this will remove any dry skin areas that attract fake tan and make the area go darker. Try a scrub like our Body Nutrition Body Scrub for a flawless finish.
